Snowflake Crystals
A snowflake that will never melt! Bring winter indoors without the mess in this fun craft.
Gather your materials. For each snowflake, you will need: 1 pipe cleaner, scissors, a pencil, a jar, boiling water, and 3-4 tablespoons of Borax, plus a spoon.
Fold your pipe cleaner in half unevenly, so one side is longer than the other. Cut at the fold. Cut the smaller piece in half evenly.
Take the two small pieces of pipe cleaner and twist them onto the bottom of the long piece to form a snowflake shape.
Twist the other end of the pipe cleaner around the middle of the pencil, then prop the pencil over the mouth of the jar so the snowflake hangs down inside it.
Pour in enough boiling water to cover the entire snowflake shape.
Add the Borax and stir gently.
Let the mixture sit overnight. The next day, remove your crystal snowflake ornament! Well done!
