Songwriting Shaker
Make up your own rhythm with this paper plate shaker craft!
Instructions

Gather your materials. You’ll need two paper plates, a popsicle stick, rice, paper, pom poms, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, yarn, glue, a stapler, scissors, and markers.

Grab your paper and marker and draw a circle that’s smaller than the bottom of the plates. Cut it out.

Grab your pipe cleaners and cut them into smaller pieces.

Draw and cut out a mouth.

Glue your pieces to the bottom of one plate to make a fun face!

Glue pom poms to the outside rim of the plate to decorate.

Grab your second plate and the popsicle stick. Glue them together so the stick is on the inside of the plate.

Add your rice to the inside of the plate.

[pods]
Staple the two plates together (or ask an adult to help) so the face is upright when you’re holding the stick. Make sure there are no holes for the rice to escape.

Decorate with yarn and markers. Great job! Now you have a shaker!
